Lawrence Udeigwe

MLK Visiting Professor Lawrence Udeigwe discusses his journey into the theoretical space of neuroscience, where mathematics is heavily employed in understanding the functioning of the nervous system. He will present an overview of his work on synaptic plasticity and on the use of artificial neural networks to further understand primate vision.

He will also present his take on how some diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice in efforts STEM get stuck in a theoretical phase and how they can be made more practical.

This event will feature captioning and/or ASL interpretation. Please email rornitz@mit.edu with accessibility requests.
