Former Colombian Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development and MLK Scholar with the MIT Environmental Solutions Initiative  Luis Gilberto Murillo-Urrutia discusses the Afro-descendant corridor in the Americas and its role in addressing climate change.

The discussion will include the creation and development of the Afro InterAmerican Forum on Climate Change, established last year at the COP 26 in Glasgow.

The second-year MLK Scholar will also share his personal experiences and challenges in advancing an inclusive climate change policy and advocacy agenda.
