Essayist Garnette Cadogan (MLK Visiting Scholar 2017-18) was a guest on MIT OpenCourseWare’s podcast, Chalk Radio.

Garnette is the author of the essay "Walking While Black" (2020), and he recently taught a course on campus called "The Fire This Time: Race and Racism in American Cities." In this episode, he talks about his teaching and the role of joy in the struggle against systemic racism. His words resonated with many of the perspectives shared during the 47th Annual MLK Celebration.
