MLK Visiting Scholar Virtual Luncheon with Matthew Schumaker, PhD
Join MLK Visiting Professor and Scholar Matthew Schumaker, PhD in a musical homage to the abstract landscapes of celebrated Ethiopian-born painter Julie Mehretu. The composer explores the use of computer-assisted composition for poetic effect, making connections between Mehretu’s vibrant curved gestures and slashed markings and musical lines.
This event will be immediately followed by a farewell address to our 2019-2020 MLK Visiting Professors and Scholars. Invitation to follow.
