Moya Bailey

Join Dr. Moya Bailey, 2020-21 MIT MLK Visiting Scholar, as she talks about her course Black Feminist Health Science Studies and the accompanying symposium. She will be playing one of the podcast episodes produced by students in the course and talking about the pedagogical considerations she made for the course.

Black Feminist Health Science Studies (BFHSS) aims to highlight the necessity of incorporating social justice into medical science.

Black women’s bodies have been instrumental in the development of medical and scientific breakthroughs that have aided countless humans across the globe. However, the degree to which these advancements have helped the health and well-being of Black women and their communities remains unclear.BFHSS works to bring these historical and contemporary ills to light in an effort to transform medicine, science, and Black people’s relationship to both.
