Rev. Dr. LeRoy Attles of St. Paul's A.M.E. Church delivered the keynote "King: What Progress Since the Dream?" 

At the time, Rev. Attles was the chairman of the board of examiners for the New England Conference of the A.M.E. Church, which certifies candidates for ordination. He was also vice chairman of the board of Christian Education for the First Episcopal District, encompassing the Northeast and Bermuda.
