
Terrence Blackman, 2012-13 MIT MLK Visiting Assistant Professor in Mathematics, has been appointed as a new Executive Council member of The National Alliance for Doctoral Studies in the Mathematical Sciences (“Math Alliance”)—Building a New American Community in the Mathematical and Statistical Sciences. Math Alliance is a community of math sciences faculty and students with the following goals:
Math Alliance was founded in 2001 as a partnership between the math sciences departments at the three Iowa State Regents universities (University of Iowa, Iowa State University and University of Northern Iowa) together with math departments at four Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) (Alabama A&M University, Benedict College (South Carolina), Florida A&M University and Jackson State University). Dr. Blackman is Dean in the School of Science, Health and Technology at Medgar Evers College, CUNY.
