The Year of Fourier: a mathematical signal processing celebration
Kasso Okoudjou, 2018-19 MIT MLK Visiting Professor
Professor, Department of Mathematics & Norbert Wiener Center for Harmonic Analysis and Applications, University of Maryland
Date: Tuesday, 20 November 2018Time: 11:45am-1pmLocation: W20-307
Joseph Fourier (born on March 21, 1768) proposed that every signal can be written as a superposition of sinusoidals. This seemingly simple idea has lead to major advances in science and engineering. In this talk, Professor Okoudjou will give a mathematical overview of Fourier’s method in signal processing, highlighting some recent extensions and applications.
